It’s something you would only hear from behind closed doors, and only from someone who’s seen the mess of scaling a business through a product launch.
Product launches are not glamorous or shiny, unlike much of what you see being portrayed out there. So you won’t hear it from the “experts” who tell you how easy everything is.
But it becomes apparent after years of experience and more than 50 online product launches.
The truth is, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that never sees light of day. The mess, the stress, the overwhelm...The stuff no one talks about.
Like when you find out that things don’t work hours before launch and your developer is fast asleep on the other side of the world.
Or when that email you sent to your list has a broken link and all you can do is cringe when people start emailing you asking what’s up.
Those kinds of things can throw anyone for a loop. Both true stories, by the way.
But all we see from the outside is the glamour of a 6 figure launch and the “overnight success” that seems to dominate the spotlight. It’s what continues to build unrealistic expectations in the industry.
But when you get behind the scenes of your very own product launch, you realize it’s not so simple and linear. And you question what pieces you’re missing, and what gives that other guy the edge.
It’s never a linear process. And no matter how big or small you are, or how far you’ve come as an entrepreneur, you face the same challenges as the next guy.
In fact, the challenges of a multi-million dollar launch are not that different from the challenges of a 6 or even 5 figure launch...
All of these challenges apply, whether it’s your first product launch, or your seventieth...So don’t beat yourself up.
The learning curve is steep, and each year with new tactics and marketing strategies - it becomes that much more uncertain of what it actually takes to execute a successful launch for your business.
Another thing you have to know that’s part of this not-so-glamorous truth is that your product launch is not an end all be all for your business (yet another unpopular opinion).

One delivers fast short term gain and the other delivers a high yielding return on investment.
Can you *technically* make 6-figures in 24 hours after you launch? Sure, and many “experts” will promise you that. But what they always seem to fail to mention is what it takes to get to the point of actually being able to do that.
It may take an Olympic athlete minutes to win the race, but it took years of preparation to that level of endurance that brought that moment of glory and success.
As a smart entrepreneur, you already know that it’s about playing the long game and learning how to overcome immediate gratification syndrome.
There is a sustainable, smart way to launch. I’ve seen it work time and time again. And it’s built on fundamentals.
When done right, there is no reason why it should take months of planning to execute a product launch.
